Stage 5 – Mind Control
Stage 5 is where the physical swing meets the mind.
At this stage, the player learns to recognize and control their mental and emotional state during practice and competition.
The 3 Gear Swing System uses five Mind Control levels:
M1 → M2 → M3 → M4 → M5
The goal is not to eliminate emotion.
The goal is awareness — knowing where your mind is, understanding how that state affects your decisions and performance, and developing a reliable plan to return to M3.
M3 is the neutral performance state.
To perform in M3, you must practice in M3.
Stage 5 teaches the player to separate emotion from execution, recognize unpredictable situations, learn correctly from both success and failure, and return to the mental state required for the next shot.
You cannot control everything that happens on the golf course.
But you can learn to recognize and control the state from which you respond.
Recognize. Reset. Return to M3.
Welcome to Stage 5.
